Intel HD 4000 and 5000 GPUs (Intel Iris Graphics) - Very Slow OpenCL CompilesFlam3 Legacy variation set used by both FA 2 and FA 3D takes 1 min 45 secs to compile for the Intel HD 5000 GPU
(versus 2 seconds for the Intel CPU) as measured on a Mid 2013 Macbook Air.
Note: The Intel OpenCL CPU mode compiles in only 1 or 2 seconds. This slow compile problem only applies to rendering on the GPU.
Note: Nvidia and ATI GPU compile times are moderately slow - 15 to 30 seconds.
These two GPUs have very, very slow GPU compile times for the OpenCL kernels that FA 2 and FA 3D use.
Apple's OpenCL driver has a compile watchdog timer that at 2 minutes, 20 secs compile time will crash the app.
Workaround for these GPU's:
- Use CPU rendering. There may be no rendering performance advantage with the Intel HD 4000 and a modest one with the 2013 Intel HD 5000.
- Create smaller variation sets and watch the Source Size metric and keep it below 40Kb.

Missing Stash Window on OS X Mavericks
Move ~/Library/Containers/com.centcom.Fractal-Architect3D/Container.plist to the Trash.
Rendering to Jpeg/Tiff on Lion (FA ver 2.1.1)Clicking on an image type other than PNG causes the render to fail when saving the file.
For any image file type other than PNG, make sure you type the file extension too.
This will be fixed in the next update.
For example: type the name MyFractal.jpeg instead of MyFractal.
